As I look back on the fresh&easy Dinah Shore Charity Pro-Am, I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am and how pleased I am with how everything went, especially the great results for charity. We raised nearly $180,000 for charity – LA’s BEST and Park Century School, our official beneficiaries, as well as for the Dinah Shore Foundation. To have such great support from my friends and fellow LPGA pros, to celebrate the history of Dinah Shore and the Kraft Nabisco Championship and to raise such important funds for charity made this a win-win weekend for sure. Thank you to all of my friends, family and fans for your support of this inaugural event. We look forward to what the future holds.

Well, it’s tournament week now! We are just about ready to tee it up in our first fresh&easy Dinah Shore Charity Pro-Am (April 2) and we’ve just added 4 more players to the field list. We are up to 21 teams now. I’m so excited that the interest has been so high for our first-ever event. My friends Susie Berning, Hall of Famer JoAnne Carner, Cindy Figg-Currier and Nancy Scranton are scheduled to play in the event. Come out to Mission Hills (in Rancho Mirage) on Saturday to cheer on the stars and legends of the LPGA. Check out the full list of players in the attached release.

Legends. Hall of Famers. Stars of the LPGA. Where are they now? Well, on April 2, 2011, you can see 18 of the best players in the history of the LPGA — my friends and fellow competitors — tee it up in the “fresh&easy Dinah Shore Charity Pro-Am”. My good friend Tim Mason (of Fresh & Easy) and I will co-host this special event to honor the late Dinah Shore, my long-time
friend and great supporter of women’s golf, and the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the event Dinah started 40 years ago. I am so excited that Kathy Whitworth, Pat Bradley, Nancy Lopez, Patty Sheehan, Kathy Whitworth and so many others will join me for this special event. We will play this pro-am during the third round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship. I hope you can come out to Mission Hills on April 2, to support this wonderful event and cheer on your favorite stars of the LPGA — past and present.

We are closing in on the start of our big event and I’m so excited to announce the addition of two more players to the field for the fresh&easy Dinah Shore Charity Pro-Am. Fans will have the chance to see Liselotte Neumann and Patricia Meunier-Lebouc tee it up in celebration of 40 years of the Kraft Nabisco Championship. I am so excited they will join us for what I know will be a memorable event for everyone. I hope you’ll make plans to come to Palm Springs on April 2 to watch us in the fresh&easy Dinah Shore Charity Pro-Am as well as today’s stars in the third round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Amy Alcott, a three-time Kraft Nabisco Championship winner and member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame, along with Tim Mason, CEO of Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market and Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Foundation, have teamed up to host the fresh&easy Dinah Shore Charity Pro-Am. The inaugural event will celebrate 40 years of the Kraft Nabisco Championship as well as benefit two children’s educational initiatives in the greater Los Angeles area: Park Century School and LA’s BEST. The inaugural pro-am event will be played on April 2, 2011, at the Mission Hills Country Club, Palmer course.

On June 30th, the Breast Cancer Assistance Group of Monterey hosted a charity golf tournament with professional golfer Amy Alcott to benefit local women battling breast cancer at the beautiful Carmel Valley Ranch Resort in Carmel Valley, CA. Amy led a clinic for 96 women participants playing in the golf tournament. The group hoped to top last year’s amount of 35,000 dollars, with a goal of 50,000 dollars.

Amy was the official starter on the first tee at the California State Jr. Girls Golf Championship at Monterey Peninsula Country Club on Tuesday the 29th of June. The event is put on by the California Women’s Amateur Championship (CWAC). Amy first played in the California State Junior Championship herself at the age of 13 and competed in them until she was 17. Also at 17, Amy participated in another CWAC event the California State Women’s Amateur (1974) held at Pebble Beach where she shot a course record 70 in the qualifying round for match-play. The 70 beat the previous record held by Babe Didrickson Zaharias. Amy turned pro 4 months later in February of 1975 and qualified to play on the LPGA tour.

The 2010 CVS Caremark Charity Classic will once again kick-off the New England summer with world-class golf for a great cause! Amy will be taking part of this year’s Charity Classic that will take place June 27-29 at scenic Rhode Island Country Club.

The CVS Caremark Charity Classic has been a premier event in Southern New England since 1999.  As the Rhode Island’s largest charitable sporting event, they have raised over $13 million for children and families, including $1.3 million in 2009.

Amy will be the Special Guest at this upcoming fundraising event benefitting the City of Hope. The Charity Golf Tournament will be held at Industry Hills Golf Course at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry, California.
